Programs Rooted in Peace, Healing, Mentorship, and Opportunity
High Hope Freeport’s programs are designed to meet people where they are and help create pathways toward safety, healing, leadership, and hope. Our work supports high-hope youth, families impacted by violence, men seeking transformation, and community members working toward peace.
Our Programs
Safe Haven Group
Safe Haven is a sanctuary of healing and support for mothers who have lost children to gun violence. Our mission is to provide a continuous, safe, and compassionate space where grief is met with understanding, and healing is nurtured through community connection. Through trauma-informed counseling, creative expression, and family engagement, we help our mothers navigate their journey of loss with resilience and hope. We also offer guidance and advocacy throughout the justice process, ensuring that no mother walks this path alone. At Safe Haven, we are more than a program—we are a community bound by shared experiences, strength, and the unwavering belief that we can lean on each other as they walking through the journey of lost
Check-In Mentoring Program
The Check-In Mentoring Program exists to pour into young men during a critical season of growth by surrounding them with mentorship, life skills, accountability, positive brotherhood, and hope. Through consistent check-ins, guided conversations, emotional wellness support, leadership development, academic encouragement, conflict resolution, and financial literacy, the program helps High Hope Youth grow in confidence, character, discipline, and future-minded thinking. At its heart, Check-In is about helping young men recognize their value, strengthen their voice, and build a future rooted in purpose, growth, and possibility.
The Legacy Path Initiative (Coming Fall 2026)
The Legacy Path Initiative is a transformational mentoring and personal development program created for justice-impacted and addiction-impacted men seeking to rebuild their lives and create a better path forward.
Through mentorship, guided reflection, life-skills development, accountability, leadership growth, and community support, the program helps participants strengthen decision-making, rebuild relationships, develop emotional awareness, and prepare for long-term personal and community success.
Built around the PEL Principles, the initiative challenges men to move beyond survival and step into purpose, leadership, healing, and legacy within their homes, families, and communities.
At High Hope Freeport, we believe every man has the ability to grow beyond his past, restore his purpose, and become a positive force for change for future generations.
The Awakening: The Chance & Choice Initiative (Fall 2026)
The Awakening was created for High Hope youth navigating violence exposure, trauma, peer pressure, instability, and the real-life challenges that often place young people on the path toward violence or justice involvement. The program combines mentorship, violence prevention education, identity development, and practical life skills to help youth make healthier choices and discover new possibilities for their future.
Through structured group sessions, emotional intelligence development, conflict resolution training, and guidance from credible messengers with lived experience, participants gain the tools needed to interrupt negative cycles, strengthen self-awareness, and move toward purpose, peace, and long-term stability.
